1. Teach, entertain, inform or inspire
Your Facebook audience is not looking for a sales pitch, and they most definitely won´t engage in one. Most people go on Facebook for some down time, or to catch up with friends. They want to engage with content that will make them smile, make them think, or improve their lives in some way. Which brings us to our next point…

2. Get to know your audience
Understanding your audience´s likes and need is essential to creating meaningful connections with them, AND to providing them with targeted content that gets them excited and interacting with your brand.
Facebook Page Insights was created precisely for this! By creating audience personas using Insights, you can better understand your target audience and what makes them thick.

3. Keep it simple
Eighty eight percent of users scroll Facebook on mobile devices, moving through content at lightning speed. Keep your post short and sweet to capture attention quickly and entice users to stop scrolling and engage. But, what type of content is engaging? Video content always goes down a treat. Think Snack Ads, or 5-15-second-long videos to ensnare users´ senses. Focus on quality. With people moving through content quickly, there´s no time for subpar graphics, videos or text. Keep it simple but effective with a consistent colour scheme and great, recognisable images.

4. Be consistent
Although it sounds easy, this is where most businesses struggle. When it comes to social media, consistency is key. Make sure to post regularly at times when your audience is online. Consistently respond to users who interact with your brand, as fans who engage with your posts want you to engage in return.
