This summer Marbella is set to play host to a number of music festivals attracting a good mix of famous artists that will appeal to both the young and the old. The season kicked off with Gloria Gaynor and Sister Sledge, who performed live at the Puente Romano Hotel on the 7th July 2012, belting out chart toppers like "I Will Survive" and "We Are Family" to a delighted crowd. Shortly to be followed by Chaka Khan the "Queen of Disco", famous for hits like "Ain't Nobody" and "I´m Every Woman", who is set to sing at the same venue the 14th August 2012. The third Starlight Festival will take place at Marbella's "La Cantera" quarry from the 13th July to the 14th August. This year's lineup will feature George Benson, ex-Supertramp front man Roger Hodgens, Tony Bennett, Christopher Cross, Hugh Laurie, Paul Anka, Miguel Bosé, Raphael, Estopa, Armando Manzanero, Simple Minds, Rosario, Lolita, Antonia Carmona and also Julio Iglesias. On the nights without live concerts, DJs will play new sounds and Burlesque, Fusion Flamenco and Circus shows will take place in the Starlight Festival lounge. Paco Roncero, owner of the legendary El Bullí restaurant is also on hand to spoil the guests with tasty tapas. At the heart of the festival is the famous Starlite Gala, which consistently attracts big names such as Eva Longoria and Melanie Griffith. This year's Honorary Chair is Antonio Banderas, which should be reason enough to guarantee a good turnout. Redline will be in full voice, singing along with the best of them!
