Redline visits Spain’s Smurf city
Wednesday, August 31st, 2011Everyone is Smurf crazy at the moment! Those cuddly blue characters that we remember from our childhoods have gone global, with a new 3D movie celebrating their antics.
However, until now we had no idea that this wonderful new film was shot in Júzcar, near Ronda, in the province of Malaga, a place only an hours drive from our office. The village’s makeover was masterminded by Sony, who chose Júzcar as the venue for the film’s premiere.
Line, our CEO, was in Smurf heaven when she visited this hilarious place that has been entirely “smurfed out”, breaking with the centuries old tradition of white villages (or pueblos blancos).
If you haven’t visited Smurftastic Júzcar yet, make sure that you do so before September, when Sony has undertaken to return the pueblo to its former, traditional snow-white glory.
